This year World Book Day will be 20 years old! We will be celebrating on Thursday 2nd March by inviting everyone to dress up as characters from Roald Dahl stories.
You could be George from George’s Marvellous Medicine, Matilda, the BFG or even one of the Twits.
There will be lots of activities taking place including ACE book quizzes and a scavenger hunt in the library. Also every child will be given a £1 World Book Day voucher to redeem a World Book Day or receive £1 off the price of a book at either Waterstones or WHSmith which are valid until 26th March.
As part of the celebrations we are inviting children to bring a costume into school that relates to their class novel or book with a hook.
Children should wear their school uniform to school and can get changed into their costume when at school.
There will be activities in the library throughout the day and every child will receive a World Book Day voucher which they can exchange for a World Book Day book at a participating retailer or alternatively receive £1 off their purchase of any book or audio CD costing £2.99 or more.
Every child in school will be given a World Book Day Voucher which can be swapped for either a WBD book (available at participating retailers) or alternatively can be used to get £1 off the price of any book or audio CD costing £2.99 or more.
