Tour De Leeds Libraries

Local children’s author Tom Palmer will snap on his bicycle clips and cycle his way around all the libraries in Leeds as part of a special Tour de France author tour – on wheels!

Tom will be greeted at each library by groups of children from local schools, who will hear him talk about his love of books, the joy of reading and how libraries changed
his life. Tom will also be reading a special short story he has written to
celebrate this momentous occassion in Leeds – involving a young girl, her bike,
a visit to the library and a wonderful adventure. Tom has also produced a
brilliant resource pack for schools, which is also available to download.

Miss Whiteley will be taking a group of children to Moor Allerton Library to attend one of Tom’s special sessions – watch this space!

Tom Palmer & Tour De Leeds Libraries

This morning 15 KS2 children were lucky enough to visit Moor Allerton Library and take part in a session with author Tom Palmer as part of his Tour De Leeds Libraries in celebration of Le Tour De France.Tom talking about reading at session

Tom showed off his bike that he had ridden to the library (Tom will be riding his bike from library to library over the next two weeks), spoke about reading and writing books, about his love of football and read his short story that he has written for the tour about a girl who visits her local library (on her bike).

Everyone enjoyed the morning and posed for a photo at the end of the session with Tom.
