Andy Seed – Author Event

On Tuesday 21st November Non-Fiction author Andy Seed will be visiting LKS2.

Have you ever interviewed a shark? How about a Tiger, a Panda or even a kangaroo? What about any other animals?

Andy will be leading an assembly on exactly how he managed to do this – about writing and his books.

Poems & Poetry Trail

This week during library sessions children have been listening, reading and sharing poems. Older children in KS2 also took part in the Poetry Trail that Miss Whiteley made. The feedback of which has been very positive with many children stating that they really enjoyed the different types of poems and activities.

LBA – Dramatastic

This week the group have been getting creative. In tow groups they have been writing their own scripts, thinking about stage directions and props.

The scripts they are writing are loosely based on one of the books ‘Loki: A Bad God’s Guide to Being Good and their own Gods and characters that they created in their stories earlier in the term.

National Poetry Day – 5th October

Next week we will be sharing poems and completing a poetry trail in the library (KS2) during library sessions.

Don’t forget to enter the poetry competition – the poem can be any length, written in any format but must be linked to the them ‘Refuge/A Safe Place’

National Poetry Day – 5th October

We will be celebrating National Poetry Day on Thursday 5th October.

Poems will be shared all through the week during library sessions along with a Poetry Trail for KS2 children. Classes will be learning a poem to recite per key stage in the following week’s assembly.

There is also a poetry competition: Write a poem linked to the theme ‘Refuge’ or ‘A Safe Place’. Winners will receive a book voucher. Poems should be written on the competition entry form and submitted to Miss Whiteley by the closing date of Friday 20th October.

Voting Time

The club were really excited this week – it was voting time!

Armed with their voting slips the children choose different areas of the library and then handed their completed slips into Miss Whiteley.

The votes were counted and the winner was…..

The club then talked about why they had chosen the book that they had voted for.
