Dermot O’Leary Author Event

On Tuesday (23rd April) a group of Year 5 children attended a very special author event hosted by Roundhay School.

Dermot O’leary talked about his series of books Toto the Ninja Cat and then his latest book Wings of Glory (set in WWII). He answered questions in a chat show format before reading an extract of his book.

The children also had the opportunity to participate in a draw-a-long with book illustrator Claire Powell having a go at drawing the hero of the story; Linus the swift and to ask Dermot some questions.

It was a fantastic fun afternoon.

Annabelle spoke to the children about herself, being a writer and delivered a writing workshop in each class based on her new series of books Dream Weavers.

The children thoroughly enjoyed her visit and many after the workshops were able to ask Annabelle some more questions as she signed their books.
